G’day readers
It’s always flattering to have your work copied and distributed. Not so much when your work is stolen and re-published without your knowledge or permission.
Which is why I’ve decided to license content on this blog using Creative Commons.
I’ve chosen an Attribution license, which means you are free to copy, distribute, syndicate, republish and transmit the content on this blog, provided you attribute the work to me (Kalena Jordan) and provide a link back to http://www.ask-kalena.com. The license also applies to any of my articles.
Many hours of my day go into writing the blog posts and articles you’ll find on this site. So please do the right thing and if you like my content enough to copy it, I ask you to respect the terms of the Attribution license.
If you are a member of the media looking for commentary, or if you want to contact me about the content on this blog, please use this contact form.
Thanks for stopping by and happy syndicating!
Blogging has now become a profession in its own right, and it is flattering to have your work copied and distributed, and your comment is justified to have it stolen and re-published without your knowledge or permission is bad ethics, not to mention downright lazy, after you have put all the time and effort in.
I have seen blogs where they have been notified of a website taking and republishing the content word for word, the owners and the readers then complained to the ISP and were able to have the website taken down for copyright infringements without going to court, a bit like name and shame.
Some food for thought.
“They copied all they could follow but they couldn’t copy my mind so I left them sweating and stealing a year and a half behind.” I love these words of wisdom from Rudyard Kipling.
