The Google Marketing team is responsible for marketing the company’s exceptional product portfolio to end users, partners and customers on a worldwide basis. The Google Marketing team have a variety of roles, including product marketing, creative services, event management, quantitative marketing and field marketing.
The role: Research Manager
As Research Manager, you are an excellent communicator, project leader, and team player who will generate enthusiasm and motivation in a positive way. Given the expansive range of internal and external constituencies, you are comfortable working, communicating, and presenting at all levels, both internally and externally, with customers and colleagues. You have a passion for integrity, business skills, and knowledge of the industry. You have excellent internet and media measurement knowledge, and are well connected with opinion leaders, press, and other media.
Responsibilities:
Lead strategic thinking and planning on all advertising research across Google’s ad products for Australia and New Zealand and execute on the plan.
Partner with sales leadership to define research priorities to advance business goals.
Manage quantitative and qualitative studies to address existing business issues across other Google divisions (e.g. sales/marketing/product).
Develop business-relevant conclusions from studies and effectively communicate them to a senior audience.
Collaborate with the Sales team to build market strategies for Google Advertising Solutions.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferred with a strong academic record.
Extensive market research experience with strong customer-facing, consultative expertise.
Strong experience in media mix and advertising effectiveness research, and ideally good knowledge of econometrics modeling.
Successful track record in media research within a media agency, a research agency, a major media owner in TV, Radio, Press or Internet, or possibly in strong FMCG brands or management consulting.
Good knowledge of how media is planned, purchased, and evaluated and experience working with and influencing media planning agencies.
Outstanding written and oral communications skills with experience in presenting insights to clients in a clear and compelling way.
Fluency in English required; fluency in one other language strongly preferred.
