Q and A: What SEO tools do you recommend?
Hi Kalena
I’ve been looking at purchasing a good SEO tool. Have been looking at WebCeo and Internet Business Promoter. What is your opinion of these, are they worth the price tags? (Looks like they scan entire webpages, spot problems, and suggest solutions).
Or do you have any good suggestions?

Hi Cedric
No tool will do the SEO for you. But some tools can speed up the SEO process by providing information about a page such as:
- title and meta tags
- keyword density
- backward links
- alt img tags
- anchor text
Some tools can also save you a lot of time by looking up the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) for a variety of search engines and showing you the keyword rank for a particular page on those SERPs.
I haven’t reviewed WebCEO or IBP for a number of years, so I can’t comment on those. But I recently had the opportunity of reviewing the following tools and can recommend them:
KPMRS
Raven Tools (this one I tend to use almost daily)
SEOmoz Tools
SEOBook Tools
Search Engine Wiki also has a whole category on SEO/SEM tools.
Hope this helps!

I love the fact you have personal messages on the top of this page? Is this a plug in and can you share details?
Thanks
Paul.

@Paul – That’s the *What Would Seth Godin Do?* WP plugin. Very handy :-)

Thanks Kalena, I noticed that KPMRS does not have a NZ data center link. Do you use anything in particular for NZ websites?

@Phil – Nearly all of my clients are in the US, so I don’t need to worry about NZ data so much. If I need to, I use the regional search options at RavenTools.com

A good tool specfically for managing link building outreach is http://www.buzzstream.com. It’s a CRM and social media monitoring tool for link builders.

I personally like iBusiness Promoter (IBP), mainly because it generates very compelling reports for your site or for your clients.
Web CEO is very good for starters. I like the way they generate the suggestions that everyone can understand. If you are new, I’d recommend Web CEO and then IBP.
SEO Power Suite with SEO Spyglass and Link Assistant seems to be very promising. Because, I have used SEO Spyglass before that gives very thoughtful insight on how your site is ranked against competitor. But, haven’t checked the full version of all other ones.
I’d also recommend all the online services that Kalena mentioned.

Great information posted here – I am a newbie, so I may look at Web CEO.
